Empowering your balanced, fulfilling life.
What is therapy?
‘Therapy’ means different things to different people. For some it can be like a coaching process where a person wants to increase their knowledge of themselves, or be more aware of how they affect others, or be supported to overcome obstacles in themselves or in theirlives that are holding them back in some way.
Seeking self-improvement is a valid use of consulting a therapist.
Some may be in a difficult situation related to, for example, family or friends or work, for which they want to develop their skills, or test out their ideas about the often complex dynamics of the situation.
Single parents are doing a job which, according to the old adage ‘it takes a village to raise a child’, might be overwhelming for one person. Having someone outside the family to bounce idea off, and get strategies from, can make a world of difference to that parent’s enjoyment of life, and to the happiness of the family overall.
Others have experienced significant trauma or loss, either in the past or the present, or both, for which they need skilled and caring help over time to resolve the experience, and gradually heal.
There are as many reasons to attend as there are clients – every person’s situation is unique.
Clients may have a regular weekly or fortnightly time, a one-off, or an occasional appointment on an ad hoc basis, as worked out between client and therapist.
If you are in doubt as to whether therapy could help you, it may be worth having a single session to discuss it.
How do you book?
Could Try Therapy uses online video as the way for client and therapist to be able to see each other for the session. It isn’t quite the same as being in the same room, but is perhaps the next best thing.
Clients make their own booking online on our MAKE AN APPOINTMENT page. The site requires you to pay before you are able to book the appointment.
A session is 50 minutes long.
Unfortunately, I am unable to offer a way of making direct contact with me (phone, email, contact form etc), apart from booking an appointment. It would not be possible for me to keep up with the many requests for information if I did.
What I can do is to offer a free 20 minute consultation on your first contact, so that both you and I can assess whether we feel this is a good fit. To do this, you still need to pay upfront, but if the consultation finishes with 20 minutes, your payment will be refunded in full.
Fees
Could Try Therapy is guided by the fee schedule set by the Australian Association of Social Workers which recommends a session rate of AUD$289.00 (US$193 approx).
The session fee for Could Try Therapy is set a little lower at AUD$250.
Clients can book their own appointment time from the Calendar on our ‘Book an Appointment’ page, following payment.
If you need therapeutic support and are facing financial hardship you are invited to discuss the issue with Mandy.
